⇒ (todo sth.) hurriedly, without spending much time on it, not as thoroughly as it could or should be done:

     ♦ Дождь лил ливнем, и Ростов с покровительствуемым им молодым офицером Ильиным сидел под сгороженным на скорую руку шалашиком (Толстой 6). The rain was falling in torrents, and Rostov, with a young officer named Ilyin, a protege of his, was sitting in a hastily rigged-up shelter (6a).

     ♦ "К февралю она [установка, идентифицирующая голоса] будет готова?" - "К февралю? Вы что - смеетесь? Если для отчёта, на скорую руку да на долгую муку - ну, что-нибудь... через полгодика" (Солженицын 3). "Will it [the voice identifier] be ready by February?" "By February? Are you joking? If it's a question of slapping something together in a hurry and regretting it later, well then-in half a year" (3a).

     ♦ Пришлось вместе с профессором Португаловым и приват-доцентом Ивановым и Борнгартом анатомировать и микроскопировать кур в поисках бациллы чумы и даже в течение трех вечеров на скорую руку написать брошюру "ОО изменениях печени у кур при чуме" (Булгаков 10).
